Lares
Explore the Urubamba mountain range in contact with native communities and the living culture of the Peruvian Andes.
Trip Overview
The Lares Trek is one of the most attractive mountain routes in the Cusco region. It crosses the Urubamba mountain range, considered tropical due to its proximity to the Amazon jungle. During the trek, various high-Andean ecosystems such as rivers, forests, lagoons, waterfalls, and snow-capped mountains are explored, in addition to visiting native communities where ancestral culture is kept alive. The route ends in the town of Lares, known for its thermal and medicinal waters.
