Trip Overview
This beautiful full-day hike takes place in the surroundings of the historic town of Ollantaytambo. The route crosses a valley with a great diversity of native plants, streams, and ancient agricultural terracing systems. The hike begins in Munaypata, a small Andean community located about 10 minutes from Ollantaytambo. After a gradual ascent of approximately three hours, you reach the pre-Inca archaeological site of Pumamarca, where it is possible to appreciate the magnitude of its construction, its strategic location, and its remarkable engineering, all accompanied by impressive views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Itinerary
We depart from Urubamba by private transport and transfer to the starting point in Munaypata, Ollantaytambo.
Start of the hike. During the ascent, ancient Inca terraces and regional flora and fauna are observed, along with impressive landscapes.
Arrival at the archaeological site of Pumamarca. Time to rest, explore the pre-Inca complex, enjoy panoramic views, make an offering with coca leaves, and enjoy a snack.
Start of the return hike to Munaypata (approx. 2:30 hours).
Arrival in Ollantaytambo and transfer back to Urubamba.
