Trip Overview
This beautiful full-day hike takes place on the outskirts of the historic town of Ollantaytambo. The route crosses a scenic valley rich in native plants, streams, and ancient agricultural terrace systems. The hike begins in Munaypata, a small Andean community located approximately 10 minutes from Ollantaytambo. After a gradual ascent of about three hours, we reach the pre-Inca archaeological site of Pumamarca, where visitors can appreciate its impressive architecture, strategic location, and advanced engineering, all surrounded by spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

Day by Day Itinerary
Pick-up from your hotel in the Sacred Valley and transfer to the starting point in Munaypata, Ollantaytambo.
Start of the hike. During the ascent, we observe ancient Inca terraces and enjoy stunning landscapes.
Arrival at the archaeological site of Pumamarca. Time to rest, explore the pre-Inca ruins, enjoy panoramic views, and have a box lunch.
Start of the return hike to Ollantaytambo (approx. 3 hours).
Arrival in Ollantaytambo and transfer back to your hotel.
